Whitley Neill Handcrafted Rhubarb & Ginger Gin

Whilst most of Johnny Neill’s inspiration for his award-winning Gins comes from his ancestor’s intrepid exploits abroad, this Rhubarb & Ginger Gin harks from fond memories made slightly closer to home. Post-war, the Whitley Family, now settled into rural England near Daresbury, cultivated their garden with thrilling flavors, serving as inspiration for both the table and indeed their experimentation with new Gins. Johnny’s latest Gin evokes childhood memories of visiting his grandparents on their farm by taking a firm Whitley family favorite in rhubarb and placed a warm twist on this with the addition of fresh ginger.

Nose: Sweet and fruity with citrus tones and a welcoming hint of spice

Palate: Sour tart of the rhubarb, ginger spice

Finish: Smooth and refreshing, ginger spice lingering

Distillery Information

Steeped in heritage and uniquely positioned within the City of London’s historic Square Mile, our range produces award-winning handcrafted gins at the City of London Distillery. Maintaining the rich history of gin production in London, whilst also looking to new contemporary ideas, the City of London Distillery has been awarded 65 international medals in gin distilling since opening in 2012. The distillation process will continue to incorporate Whitley Neill Original’s nine distinctive botanicals, including Baobab and Cape Gooseberries, with distillation in handcrafted batches.
