By 2001, he and his wife, Patty Rock launched the Saracina and Atrea wine brands. John acquired the coveted Sundial Ranch along the Upper Russian River in the early 1980’s. In the late 1990’s, the ranch was renamed Saracina after a centuries-old farmhouse and vineyards in Tuscany where he and Patty spent their honeymoon. In October 2018 the Taub family expanded its presence in California when the family purchased Saracina Vineyards.
