Barrell Single Rye Whiskey

This Rye Whiskey was distilled in Canada and matured in a single cask. It was moved to Kentucky for further maturation and chosed for its distinctive flavor, bouquet and texture. This limited offering is a true single barrel bottled at cask strength.For the 120+ proof, you'd never know it. This stuff drinks like an herbal iced tea. If you are a big fan of Midwinter Night's Dram because it reminds you of Christmas, then you're going to absolutely love this one because it'll remind you of the perfect spring day.

Barrell Single Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Lilacs, fresh cut grass, grassy, cherry tree blossoms, extremely floral. very light vanilla.

Palate: Bubblegum, herbal fennel and mint tea, rye spice, red hots that fade quickly and make way for a rye spice that warms more than it burns, green apples, faint ginger and liquorice.

Finish: Green/sour apple jolly rancher for days, very little rye spice heat on the very back and very tip of the tongue. refreshing mint. light sweetness keeps thing smooth and beautiful.

Distillery Information

Founded in 2014, Barrell Craft Spirits scoops up extra casks of premium Bourbon and Rye and bottles ‘em up at full strength. Each batch is completely different. Sometimes the coolest casks on the market are Tennessee-style Whiskeys, sometimes they’re Kentucky Bourbon. The good stuff could be straight, or it could be a finished wood. The point is that they find the best odd lots and “left-overs” that would more likely be tossed into a generic blend and sell it to us in all of their glory.
