Caballito Cerrero is a type of mezcal produced in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is made from the Agave Blanco variety of agave, which is roasted over charcoal and distilled in copper stills. It has a smoky, earthy flavor, with notes of citrus and pepper. Puntas is the term for the highest-proof variety of mezcal, usually measuring between 55-59% ABV. It is typically used in cocktails, where its bold flavors can be highlighted.
