Coming all from the Cherry Vineyard, it is a medium-bodied, elegant effort that has juicy acidity, perfumed black cherry, dried cranberry, white pepper and bramble-driven aromatics and building richness. Very drinkable and lively, it’s an impressive Paso Blend that’s loaded with character. Sweet, silky tannins wrap around a finish laced with sweet red cherries, cranberries, pomegranate, spices and flowers. As is often the case, the Cherry Red is one of the most distinctive wines in the Linne Calodo range. For that reason, and its sheer deliciousness, it is also one of my personal favorites. Linne Calodo produces seven to ten blends per year using a myriad of varietals: Rhone, Zinfandel, as well as other esoteric varietals from around the world. The Linne Calodo wines are driven by four factors: vineyard location, uncompromising viticultural practices, minimalist winemaking, and the desire to learn from experience. The vineyards are farmed sustainably and the crop loads reflect the natural balance of the vine.
