Detailed Description

Exactly 130 years ago, a young whiskey man, Paul Jones Jr., named his Bourbon after the occasion where his true love said, “yes” with a corsage of four red roses. Since that time, we’ve seen Prohibition come and go, two World Wars, the first Moon Landing, and so much more. Below, you’ll find a number of artifacts and memorabilia commemorating and celebrating the history of Four Roses. There’s also a way for you to submit and share your own pieces of Four Roses history. So, here’s to our 130th Anniversary, and glasses raised to 130 more. Explore and enjoy.

Four Roses 130th Anniversary Limited Edition Tasting Notes

Nose: More balanced than anticipated. It’s like walking into a candy store that makes its own salted caramel. A pinch of barnyard quality brings the sweet and slightly salty notes together nicely.

Palate: Thinner mouthfeel compared to a lot of cask strength whiskies, but a pleasant warming sensation lingers in the mouth for a while. Less woodsy than expected given the ages of the bourbons. It’s a bit earthy with perfume and medicinal notes on the finish. Bourbon sweet, but off-dry.

Finish: Soft & smooth.

Distillery Information

Four Roses Distillery is a special place with a special page in history. One of only six distilleries that were permitted to operate during Prohibition to produce medicinal Bourbon, it has an intriguing history. Sitting on the banks of the Salt River in the serene rural part of Kentucky, it saw ups and downs, until it was resurrected in 2002.
