This is the 2025 batch of cask strength single malt from Ardnamurchan, combining a blend of 87% peated and 13% unpeated spirit, 90% of which matured in bourbon casks while the remaining 10% was given the sherry cask treatment.

Nose: Beach bonfire, custard, toffee apples, and black pepper.

Palate: Orange zest, earthy peat, vanilla, orchard fruit, oak char, and rich spice.

Finish: Smoke and peppery spice linger among ripe tropical fruit.

Distillery Information

The Ardnamurchan Distillery, on Scotland’s west coast, is a standout in the whisky world. It uses both old crafting methods and new, sustainable practices. Located on the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula, it makes single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky captures the feel of its wild and charming surroundings. Adelphi Distillery Ltd. runs Ardnamurchan. They commit to being eco-friendly. It's one of the few distilleries using local, sustainable resources. They get power from a hydroelectric generator, using water from a nearby river. Biomass boilers, fed with local woodchip, make heat. These methods mix quality whisky making with being sustainable. They cut the carbon footprint and help the local environment. Ardnamurchan’s whisky-making uses old methods. They focus on developing flavour and maturing the whisky. They use local resources, maturing the whisky in the coastal air. This might add complexity to the spirit. The sea air might give the ageing whisky a unique sea character. This would reflect where it's made.
