A one-off release in celebration of Lagavulin's 200th Anniversary in 2016, only 8,000 individually numbered bottles of this limited edition exist. The first 25 year old release from Lagavulin since Diageo's Special Release in 2002, this Islay Single Malt has been matured exclusively in sherry casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 55% abv.
Lagavulin 25 Year Old 200th Anniversary Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried fruits with figs, dates and prunes mingling with a trace of treacle toffee.
Palate: Oily in the mouth with lots of charred wood, oak-smoked meats, honey, burnt treacle tart and ash.
Finish: Long and smooth with wood smoke rising slowly before a cooling eucalyptus.

Lagavulin distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Lagavulin on the island of Islay, Scotland.Lagavulin is one of the three Kildalton Distilleries in the south of Islay and sits comfortably in between Ardbeg and Laphroaig at the "Hollow by the Mill", translated from the Gaelic lag a'mhuilin.
