The history of the Knebel W inery goes back to 1642. In its present form, the Knebel Winery was founded in 1990. Since then, the highest maxim has been: respect. The Knebel winery is located in Winningen, on the lower Moselle. When father Reinhard died suddenly, son Matthias Knebel took over the management of the Knebel winery in 2003. At that time, he had just started his viticulture studies, so he depended on the entrepreneurial support of Gernot Kollmann and mother Beate. Matthias Knebel changed the direction as far as the taste of the wines was concerned. Whereas his father had mainly produced sweet wines, Matthias concentrates on dry wines.
