Ben Nevis Ingelred Single Cask #609 15 Year Old 2007 Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

In 2021, this whisky, which had been aged in Bourbon casks, was transferred to a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. The intention was for it to let it rest there for six months, aiming to make a good whisky even better.

Nose: The aroma is reminiscent of sherry, with prominent notes of figs.

Palate: The taste offers hints of caramelized sugar, and rich dark dried fruits.

Finish: Sweet and honeyed finish.

Distillery Information

The washbacks are wooden and, more significantly, brewer’s yeast is used, making this the last distillery in Scotland to insist on this old way of inducing fermentation. Distillation is slow and steady, giving a rich, deep distillate which matures well in ex-Sherry casks where a ripe, chewy texture is produced.
