The 12th edition of La Maison du Whisky’s celebrated Artist range is here! Introduced in 2011, Artist bring together the worlds of whisky and visual art. Artist #12 consists of six single cask expressions, ranging between 10 and 44 years old. The bottles feature colourful and dreamy paintings created by Gesine Arps. She was born in Germany in 1964, and moved to Italy when she was 20 to complete her art education. Ledaig is a peated single malt from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, named after the distillery’s original name. Ledaig 15 Years Old Artist #12 2005 matured for over 15 years in refill butt #900037, and is bottled at an intense cask strength of 64.8. The nose is rich with harmonious aromas of elegant peat, cherries, apricot, heady flowers, exotic fruits and chocolate. The palate is lively and develops flavours of chocolate and saline peat, followed by more medicinal and empyreumatic notes. The finish is long with hints of slightly damp earth, subtle flowers, liquorice and pepper.
