Doc Swinson's Exploratory Series L’Esprit (The Spirit) Finished in Cognac Casks Straight Bourbon Whisky

Inspired by French brandy distillers, this 5-year bourbon is finished in a selection of cognac puncheons delivering balance and richness to our bourbon. Doc’s Blender hand-selected the whiskeys from each puncheon and skillfully blended them for this limited release and aptly named it L’ESPRIT — French for “the spirit.”

Nose: Orange marmalade, Soda bread, citrus and marzipan.

Palate: Golden raisins, wildflower honey, dark chocolate, dried tobacco, crème brûlée and candied orange peels.

Finish: Exceptional balance of sweet and citrus notes, a smooth sipping bourbon with a toasted oak finish.

Distillery Information

Our story is a bit unconventional, because we never intended on making a whiskey brand. Our team was developing other people's spirits before Doc Swinson's was born. Doc Swinson's evolved from a pet project. Our collection started in 2017 with 10 casks, a small warehouse, and a love for blending and finishing.
