Tennessee- A rye mash bill first matured in American white oak barrels and then finished in hand selected Amarone wine casks. Spicy and dry flavors from the rye with notes of cherry, cinnamon, and vanilla.
J.W. Kelly & Co. Melrose Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Spicy, and slightly tangy scent. In this case, the combination also includes a touch of vanilla along with a pronounced note of dried stone fruit.
Palate: Entry into the mouth is unusually sweet, hitting the tongue like a sweet caramel sauce with a bit of a smoky character and just faint touches of dried fruit.
Finish: A sweet finish with flavors of raisin, molasses, oak.

In 1862 J.W.Kelly migrated from New York state to Tennessee with a dream to produce damn fine whiskey. That passion was realized in 1866 in Chattanooga, TN, with the start of J.W.Kelly & Co. Although it set the standard of excellence, his brand was halted by prohibition in 1915. Now, more than 100 years later, his dream lives on as our own… “A World-Class Spirit with a Chattanooga Soul.”
