Michel is the third generation of Colins to make wine in Chassagne and he is among the very best top growers in the village. Yields are carefully controlled and vinification is traditional. All the wines, including the white Premiers Crus, are bottled relatively early so they retain their freshness and natural acidity. The white wines from this domaine are rich but perfectly balanced with crisp underlying acidity. Three cousins, Bernard, Marc and Michel Colin-Deleger, are all now more or less retired. Domaine Marc Colin is now run by three of his children, Caroline, Joseph and Damien while the eldest, Pierre-Yves, has set up on his own. Michel Colin-Deleger’s vineyards have been distributed to sons Philippe and Bruno, who work separately. Bernard Colin sold his vineyards in 2007 to Michel Picard.
