True Story Volume 2 Rye starts as a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged 5–8 years in new charred American oak. It’s finished for 2–12 months in Brazilian Amburana hardwood casks, followed by maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. This additive-free process brings together warm spice, dried fruit sweetness, and rich oak structure.

Nose: Dominant cinnamon and nutmeg spice from Amburana, layered with raisin, pear, and peach skin.

Palate: Rye grain and pepper with dried berries, caramel, dark chocolate, saffron, and warm baking spices.

Finish: A warming blend of cinnamon, leather, oak, white pepper, and lingering fruit sweetness.

Distillery Information

Brook Hill Distillery originally operated during Prohibition under Joseph L. Friedman. The brand was revived by Rare Character, a company known for limited-edition, high-proof bourbons. The "Scarlet" edition honors the historic Brook Hill legacy, offering rich flavor and collectible appeal.
