Nose: Cinnamon, clove, vanilla bean, caramel, and seasoned oak.

Palate: Explosive rye spice, dark caramel, orange peel, peppercorn, and toasted grain.

Distillery Information

"The Sazerac story starts in 1800s New Orleans with the Sazerac Coffee House, known for serving cocktails made with French Sazerac de Forge cognac, bitters (by Antoine Peychaud), and absinthe. When cognac supply dried up, rye whiskey replaced it, solidifying the Sazerac cocktail. The company itself grew from this iconic drink, with Thomas H. Handy acquiring the bar in 1869 and expanding into a major spirits importer, eventually becoming the global Sazerac Company, owning brands like Buffalo Trace and Fireball."
