Bowmore 1996 ElD 23 Year Old The Single Malts of Scotland Tasting Notes

Nose: A maritime landscape spreads out before you, salty sea breeze with wild flowers in the sand dunes. Smoky plumes of burning peat are accompanied by rosemary, grilled pineapple slices and canned grapefruit.

Palate: Sweet peat smoke with poached pear, syrup and salt flakes. A few drops of water wash away the brine and replace it with grasses and a bouquet of midsummer flowers; chamomile blossom, daisies and clover.

Finish: Long, delicate smoke and light varnish with notes of burnt sourdough bread, white pepper and the zest of pink grapefruit.
