Glenglassaugh 50 Year Old (D.1973) Cask #3810 Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich, polished oak, honeyed malt, dried fruits, subtle spice, orange peel, and delicate tobacco notes with hints of old leather and antique library warmth.

Palate: Deep, layered, and silky — concentrated toffee, caramelized nuts, dried figs and dates, gentle spice, and soft oak tannins, with a hint of maritime influence typical of coastal Highland malts.

Finish: Very long and refined, with lingering oak, dark fruit, soft vanilla, gentle spice, and a calm, warming fade.

Distillery Information

Glenglassaugh Distillery was founded in 1875 near Portsoy in the Scottish Highlands and is renowned for its coastal Highland character and independent spirit. After periods of dormancy during the late 20th century, the distillery was revived with a focus on producing single malts that reflect both traditional craftsmanship and its unique terroir. Glenglassaugh emphasizes careful maturation in quality casks, coastal influence, and patience in aging, allowing their whiskies to develop elegance and complexity over time. Today, the distillery is recognized for producing a range of malts from vibrant, fresh expressions to deeply matured, collectible releases, maintaining a commitment to quality, heritage, and the distinctive coastal Highland style.
