This is the new no-age-statement Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the famous Speyside distillery of Macallan. Macallan's new range has done away with age-statements and instead focuses on the colour of the whisky. The concept being that the older the whisky is the darker it will be... Regardless of how true this really is, it's certainly a great whisky packed with assertive vanilla and citrus flavours. Only 355 bottles of this single malt, which was aged for up to 73 years, were imported into the United States.
Macallan Gold 1824 Series Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Aroma of dried fruits, vanilla, green apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
Palate: Rich, viscous wood spices dominate the palate, and are complemented by undertones of leather, cedar and violets.
Finish: Finish is gorgeous and lush, with a touch of fresh tobacco.

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
