A lovely old bottle of Mortlach distilled in 1936 and bottled in the early 1970s by Gordon & Macphail for the Italian market under the original black Connoisseurs Choice label.

Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: Firm, powerful. A well-balanced attack gives equal footing to aromas of peat, smoke, spices.
Finish: This is a very light and refreshing malt.
Distillery Information
Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts. The still pictured above is Dufftown distillery.
