It was founded in 1981 by Jeffrey Grosset, and since then has set out to make high-quality wines from a range of grape varieties, but in particular from Riesling.There are 20 hectares (49 acres) of estate vineyards, which are scattered around the Clare Valley and the Adelaide Hills. Polish Hill, which lends its name to Grosset's most well-known Riesling, is planted on hard, rocky soils and produces a single-vineyard Riesling wine with distinctive flavors of citrus and slate.Yields are very low and the wine is fermented in stainless steel before being settled for a period of time on its lees.
