Kentucky- Complex, full bodied and surprisingly smooth with a delicate long finish that's unbelievably mellow. Contains hints of ripe plum and cherry tastes with fruity, spicy aromas including herbs and cocoa. Drink straight up or on the rocks.

Four Roses Single Barrel Tasting Notes

Nose: Big, oaky, and herbal. Dark and rich caramel. Vanilla. Chocolate covered cherries. Dark fruits. Cloves. Sweet mint. Sugar and spice. Freshly baked donuts.

Palate: Fruity with a surprising amount of lighter stone fruits, such as apricot. Floral. A fairly strong herbal essence. Oak with a spicy tang. Mint. Sweet rye bread. Cloves. Cinnamon. Full and powerful.

Finish: Fruity oak lingers for quite a while. Rye spice. Mint. Unsweet cinnamon. The beginning of the finish is sweet, but it turns dry quite quickly.

Distillery Information

Four Roses Distillery is a special place with a special page in history. One of only six distilleries that were permitted to operate during Prohibition to produce medicinal Bourbon, it has an intriguing history. Sitting on the banks of the Salt River in the serene rural part of Kentucky, it saw ups and downs, until it was resurrected in 2002.
