Bottled at a strength of 44.2% abv, this expression was matured in a combination of refill sherry and American oak hogsheads.

Detailed Description

This 2nd edition of the Glenrothes 1992 Vintage Single Malt is aged 10 years longer than the original release bottled in 2004. These are the very same casks chosen for the 1st release, left aside to mature longer in both refill sherry and ex-bourbon barrels, making it the first vintage of the Glenrothes to be matured entirely in refill casks. It should be noted that the whisky was originally produced by Malt Master John Ramsay and the casks for this edition bottled by his successor, Gordon Motion. It is also non-chill filtered.

Glenrothes 1992 - 2nd Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Thick cut Seville orange marmalade, a touch of tropical fruit hiding within this. Developing vegetal oak and vanilla.

Palate: Refreshing as it opens with lemon and juicy apple. Dark chocolate brings an enjoyable bitterness and dryness to the palate. A few raisin-and-chocolate-chip cookie notes.

Finish: Nutty and long, with more Sherried notes showing up later on.
