Apple Du Nord Liqueur begins its journey in Lake City, Minnesota on a 66-year-old orchard; the juice is then driven north to our Minneapolis distillery where it is blended with spirits made from Minnesota corn and lightly spiced with cinnamon, orange peel, and clove. The result is a sweet, crisp apple aroma that leads into a bold, tart apple flavor with caramel and toffee notes—a testament to the potential of a classic, heritage apple and the embodiment of Autumn in the North.
Du Nord Apple Liqueur Tasting Notes
Nose: Apple. Sweet, crisp apple aroma leads in to bold, tart apple flavor. Reminiscent of a bite of the fresh fruit.
Palate: Caramel. Aroma of brown sugar and fresh baked pie. Taste of caramel and toffee, with a pleasing warmth.
Finish: A comforting layer of warm spices arises in the finish as the apple flavor subsides.
Distillery Information
Du Nord is the brainchild of Chris Montana, who decided to open a distillery in his home city of Minneapolis in 2013. It's a family-run operation that combines Chris' city-smarts with Shanelle Montana's country spirit. The craft spirits company has since grown considerably from a garage-type distilling project and works to bring minorities and members of underrepresented communities into their family.
