Released by Bladnoch in the first half of 2017, this 25 year old Lowland single malt enjoyed a finishing period in Port pipes, resulting in a gorgeous copper hue and full-bodied flavour profile. For a distillery that celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2017, the Bladnoch story is only just beginning. In Galloway, a collection of dark stone buildings sit perched on the River Bladnoch. With a rich history dating back to 1817, Bladnoch is one of the oldest Scotch Whisky producers in Scotland paying homage to rare Lowland Whisky. After ceasing production for several years, Australian businessman David Prior purchased Bladnoch thanks to his passion for Scotch Whisky and a desire to restore the heart and soul of the local community and reinvigorate the brand. Nose: Waxy fruit and old oak furniture, juicy plum, sugared almonds and a hint of floral malt.

Palate: Floral notes continue on to the palate - violet and rose petal jam. Well-oaked.

Finish: Chocolatey sweetness with a little spark of cranberry.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1817, Bladnoch was initially established as a Farmhouse Distillery. Situated on the banks of the River Bladnoch, it stands out as Scotland's southernmost distillery. A quaint distillery, Bladnoch uses just one pair of stills, creating whiskies known for their signature light/delicate character, highly sought after by connoisseurs. This Lowland single malt was distilled in 1990 and matured in ex-bourbon casks. This Bladnoch 25 independent bottling also picked up a Silver Medal at the 2016 New York Wine & Spirits Competition.
