Detailed Description

Greenore Single Grain is aged for a minimum 8 years in ex-bourbon casks. These first fill bourbon casks give it such rich oaky and sweet tones. The Port of Greenore is located within just a few miles from Cooley Distillery in Co. Louth. The grain used to make this grain whiskey was shipped into Greenore Port and this is where the name originated from. Greenore single grain Irish whiskey is distilled, matured and bottled in Ireland, and has an abv of 40%. A small batch bottling of Greenore 8 year old is matured for 8 years in ex-bourbon casks which are carefully selected by their Master Distiller to ensure the finest results.

Greenore Single Grain 8 Year Old Irish Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey, golden syrup and corn oil with French baguette, green apple skin, and aoverripe tropical fruit/white peach. Pinch of cinnamon spice.

Palate: Sweet vanilla and caramel with buttery oak, white fruit and a pinch of spice - nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finish: Honeyed sweet corn oil with cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of ginger and black pepper. Sweet and easy - the training bra of whiskies.

Distillery Information

Cooley Distillery is an Irish whiskey distillery, located on the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Ireland, converted in 1987 from an older potato alcohol plant by John Teeling. On 16 December 2011 Beam Inc. announced plans to purchase Cooley for around US$95 million (€71 million). The sale closed on 17 January 2012. Beam was then purchased by Suntory Holdings on 30 April 2014, and became its Beam Suntory subsidiary.
