Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie has taken a darker turn with Phantom Smoke. A peated Highland malt finished in Crocodile (heavily charred) casks, this isn’t your usual gentle Beastie; it’s a smoky, spicy, and complex dram.

Nose: Curling smoke, scorched oak, and smouldering spice with a flicker of vanilla sweetness.

Palate: Waves of peated malt, roasted nuts, and burnt sugar meet hints of citrus and honey.

Finish: Long, smoky, and satisfyingly warm, leaving a trail of char and Highland malt sweetness.

"Timorous Beastie isn't from one distillery but is an independent blended malt from Douglas Laing & Co., honoring Scotland's Highlands and poet Robert Burns. Launched in 2014, it combines single malts (like Dalmore, Glengoyne, Blair Athol, Glen Garioch) to capture Highland character, named after Burns' "To a Mouse," but it's a bold, not timid, whisky with sweet, fruity, honeyed notes, showcasing Douglas Laing's blending skill for their "Remarkable Regional Malts" series."
