Detailed Description

This single cask comes to us from family-run indie bottler Hunter Laing & Co. Specially selected and bottled for the Heritage series in the Platinum Old & Rare Selection, this expression was distilled at Strathmill in Speyside in 1986. Matured for more than three decades, it has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.2% abv free from all chill filtration and artificial colouring. Just 150 bottles have been produced of this limited edition.

Strathmill 33 Year Old 1986 Platinum Old & Rare Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: This medium gold whisky has notes of toffee, honey, and macerated fruits on the nose.

Palate: The palate has notes of sweet oak and nutmeg, with toasted barley.

Finish: The finish is long and powerful with hints of cocoa and black pepper.

Distillery Information

Strathmill is one of three distilleries within the Moray town of Keith at the heart of "Malt Whisky Country". Unlike Keith's other two distilleries of Strathisla and Glen Keith, however, Strathmill is not owned by Chivas (part of the Pernod Ricard group) but since 1997 by Diageo who operate it for the production of blends such as J&B whisky.
