Jefferson's Presidential Select 30 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Castle Brands is proud to introduce two new groundbreaking bourbons, Jefferson’s Presidential Select 25 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Jefferson’s Presidential Select 30 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the latest additions to its line of “Ridiculously Small Batch” whiskies and the Presidential Suite (Jefferson’s Bourbon, Jefferson’s Reserve, Jefferson’s Presidential Select and Jefferson’s Rye). Both bourbons are aged in new oak barrels and bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV). Inspired by its namesake Founding Father, these mature and exceptionally full-bodied aged bourbons were released nationally in November 2013.

Nose: Sweet with hints of butter and peanuts.

Palate: Lots of sweetness on the tip of the tongue giving way to some corn and slightly lower oak flavors than you would expect from a bourbon that has spent a quarter century in an oak barrel. There is a very subtle complexity on the back end, with some sugars and vanilla and rye notes rounding out the flavor.

Finish: Incredibly smooth, almost too smooth. The finish is short, but satisfying, with very little bite.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1997, Jefferson’s is the brainchild of Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, a famed bourbon historian. They were continuing a family tradition that goes back to Trey’s 8th generation grandmother who was arrested in 1799 for the “production and sales of spirituous liquors.” To personify the brand, they chose Thomas Jefferson—known for his curiosity and experimental spirit. This is a mindset to which Trey has dedicated himself, pushing the boundaries of the definition of bourbon. Upholding tradition, yet always discovering new possibilities.
