Detailed Description

Apros White Vermouth comes to us from the Black Forest, produced using pinot gris from the Kaiserstuhl alongside bergamot, basil, lemon peel, chamomile, wormwood, and spignel (an old medicinal plant that grows on alpine meadows and tastes rather spicy). The fruitiness of the wine harmonises beautifully with the bitter herbs and citrus.

Apros White Vermouth Tasting Notes

Nose: Pinot Gris with aromas of cantaloupe, sweet pear and mirabelle. Refined with crisp nuances of bergamot, subtle hints of spignel and fruity notes of chamomile.

Palate: Delicate, refreshing and savoury in taste, with typical wormwood flavours.

Finish: Great elegance and length on the finish.

Distillery Information

Matthias Sasse is a native of Baden through and through. He loves life and his job as an entrepreneur. His dream: his own vermouth from his homeland that tastes good. The appropriate name: apros, Latin for wild boar. Two good friends join them: Achim Berger, restaurateur and bar freak, and Johannes von Gleichenstein, oenologist and winery owner at the Kaiserstuhl. The apros adventure begins.
