The first release in the Explorers Series of limited editions from the Arran distillery, Brodick Bay is a 20 year old expression limited to just 9,000 bottles worldwide. Matured in bourbon barrels and sherry hogsheads before being finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Bodega Tradicion in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Volume One of the series features a vintage illustration of the island's Brodick Bay.

Nose: Creamy toffee and fresh citrus fruits.

Palate: A sweet mouth-coating toffee, developing into fudge and dark chocolate with raisins, honey and hints of oak.

Finish: Classic Arran sweetness with layers of rich fruits from the sherry casks.

Distillery Information

Situated on the Isle of Arran, Arran Distillery was founded in 1994 by Harold Currie, the former director at Chivas Distillery, and is one of the last remaining independent distilleries in Scotland. When the distillery was finally completed in 1995 — construction was halted for nearly a year when a pair of Golden Eagles built their nest near the distillery — it became the first legal distillery on the Isle of Arran in over 150 years.
