On the palate this wine expresses notes of cherry, redcurrant and raspberry crushed associated with touches of black cherry as well as an imperceptible hint of plum, toasted / caramelized touches and cardamom. Tannins are fine and supple. Good length. There is an imperceptible hint of chocolate hint in the background / on the finish.

In 1940 , Raoul DENIS, winemaker of the prestigious Hospices de Beaune, like his father and grandfather previously, decided to take over with his wife Raymonde, as a second activity, the small family farm which then had 2 hectares of vines. In 1972 , they created the company DENIS PERE & FILS with their first son, Roland and his wife Annick, while the vineyard grew and was enriched in particular with the Ile des Vergelesses appellation. In 1982 , with a few new plantations and the acquisition of prestigious plots including Corton Charlemagne and Aloxe Corton, the direct marketing of wines from these 10 hectares of vines took off. In 1992 , Raoul, who retired, passed the torch to Christophe, the youngest of his sons. The farm now covers 14 hectares. We are four partners: – Christophe DENIS and his wife Valérie – Jean-Baptiste GAUTHEY, our nephew. – Roland DENIS, retired. Bottled marketing, which began in the early 1970s, has grown from a few hundred bottles to 80,000 bottles.
