        Producer Information

Domaine Bruno Colin is a wine estate in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune region. It cultivates approximately 8 hectares (20 acres) of Chardonnay vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Maranges. The domaine's portfolio of wines comes in large part from some of Chassagne-Montrachet's key Premier Cru climats, including Blanchot Dessus, En Remilly, La Boudriotte, La Maltroie, Les Chenevottes, Les Vergers, Les Chaumées and Morgeot. Bruno Colin also makes a wine from the La Truffière vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, and from Le Charmois in Saint-Aubin. It also makes a selection of Pinot Noir-based wines from premier cru climats in Chassagne-Montrachet, Maranges and Santenay. White wine vinification starts with the pneumatic pressing of the hand-harvested grapes, which are then fermented on their fine lees. The Pinot Noir grapes, on the other hand, are completely destemmed and cold-macerated prior to temperature-controlled fermentation. After fermentation is complete, both the red and white wines are aged for 12 months in oak barrels, about a quarter of which are new. They are then racked, blended in stainless steel vats (where they remain for the next three to six months) and finally bottled. The pinnacle of Bruno Colin's village-level wines is its red Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay Vieilles Vignes wines, the latter made from vines planted as far back as 1959. It also makes a single Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc, as well as several Bourgogne wines made from Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir within its wider Burgundy portfolio. The domaine was founded by Bruno Colin in 2003 when the larger family domaine, Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, was split up. This gave birth to three distinct domaines: Michel Colin-Deleger, Philippe Colin and Domaine Bruno Colin.
