Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from organic corn, wheat and barley. "We get about 30,000 pounds of corn, wheat and barley delivered a month," says Garrison. "The wheat comes from our own fields — we have 65 acres of wheat on the other side of the property." In addition, the corn is harvested from local fields in Texas while the barley is sourced from the Pacific Northwest.

Nose: Subtle nose of golden delicious apple-meat and honey. Sweet floral verbena, fresh cut grass, saddle leather, cinnamon and honey.

Palate: Springtime flavors of honeysuckle and orange candy, yellow pound cake, baking spices, lemon gumdrops, and sugar cookies.

Finish: Long and engrossing finish. Complex. Smoky county fair caramel apple sprinkled with walnuts and cinnamon.

Distillery Information

Dan Garrison -- an ex-marketing executive for a tech company -- founded Garrison Bros. in 2008, after being laid off by a former employer.Garrison put a few investors and family members together, and started selling product contract from other distilleries. After a few years they generated enough resources and market interest to officially launch a distillery in 2008, about 60 miles west of Austin in the tiny town of Hye, Texas.
