Since the 17th century, Mauritius has a rich and longstanding tradition of growing sugar cane. A tropical paradise, the island is situated off the southeast coast of the African continent in the Indian Ocean and has been holding an important position on the trade route to India. Turquoise Bay Amber Rum is the jewel that reflects the beauty and the atmosphere of the island. A blend of old traditional molasses rums and a touch of rhum agricole or pure sugar cane rums, it’s finished in French and American oak barrels. Smooth and elegantly aromatic, this traditionally crafted rum has a nose full of notes of sugar cane, hot sugar and honey pastries. The palate is full and mellow with a delicate dance of notes of pastries, Virginia tobacco and wood. Turquoise Bay Amber Rum was awarded Gold at the 2018 Grand Concours des Spiritueux, Silver at the 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition, Silver Medal at the 2019 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Bronze at the 2019 IWSC. Nose: Gold hue with hints of mahogany. The nose greets with sugar cane, hot sugar and honey pastries as well as sweet wood and spices.
