Glen Mhor 1965 50 Year Old Rare Reserve (Signatory) Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Old leather, polished oak, almonds and Cognac-like rancio.

Palate: More of that rich, vegetal rancio on the palate, now paired with a very light spritz of citrus and mint. Cooking spices develop later on, with a big whack of allspice.

Finish: Cigar box and maybe a touch of Sherried oak.

Distillery Information

Glen Mhor operated for less than a century, being founded in 1892 and closing in 1983. The distillery was located directly at the Caledonian Canal in Inverness, in the Scottish North Highlands. John Birnie and James Mackinlay of Charles Mackinlay & Co founded the distillery, both blenders from Leith.
