Nagahama Wine Cask x Sweden Cask is an unpeated single malt from the new Japanese distillery Nagahama. The whisky was distilled on 19 September 2017 and matured in wine cask #79 for 3 years, before being bottled on 22 October 2020 at 56.2% ABV.
Nagahama 2017 Wine Cask x Sweden Cask 3 Years Old Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet nuances and chocolate-covered strawberries slowly blend with nutty and floral notes.
Palate: Fresh citrus fruits form a delicious contrast to delicately melting milk chocolate. Wonderful notes of spice set a special accent.
Finish: In the long finish, the fruity sweetness and the floral aromas of freesia, violet and jasmine slowly evaporate.
Distillery Information
Nagahama Roman Beer Co.,Ltd., founded in Nagahama City on the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga prefecture started producing whisky in 2016. The smallest distillery in Japan does not only produce single malt whisky, but also blends carefully selected whisky purchased from overseas and ages it in Nagahama's climate.
