Palate: Rich and powerful, with toffee, dark chocolate, molasses, roasted nuts, cinnamon, oak, black pepper, and concentrated Texas bourbon sweetness.

Finish: Long, warm, and intense, with lingering caramel, dark fruit, charred oak, baking spice, and substantial cask-strength heat.

Distillery Information

Garrison Brothers Distillery is based in Hye, Texas, and is recognized as Texas’s first legal whiskey distillery. The distillery produces its bourbon from a sweet mash and ages its whiskey in new American white oak under the intense Texas climate, which accelerates maturation and creates pronounced oak and caramel character. Balmorhea is the distillery’s signature twice-barreled bourbon, traditionally moving from one new American oak barrel into a second new oak barrel for additional maturation. Garrison Brothers’ single-barrel program highlights individual casks selected for distinctive flavor and character.
