Detailed Description
Detailed Description
Hailing from the Villa Crespia winery, which focuses on sustainable production, it's a rosé expression of Franciacorta Italian sparkling wine! Produced with a combo of pinot noir and chardonnay grapes grown following an organic regime in the winery's vineyards, the winery is self-sufficient thanks to an agrophotovoltaic system, making use of the land to grow, and also to harness solar energy. After cold maceration, the grapes are fermented and aged for 7-8 months in steel tanks, followed by refermentation and aging in the bottle for at least two years. This extra brut expression boasts elegant layers of spice, bittersweet citrus, and florals, making it a splendid accompaniment to cured meats and fish dishes.
Producer Information
Since its foundation in 1999, Villa Crespia has always been dedicated to the production of Franciacorta wine, using grapes from the family’s own vineyards. The vineyards are located in each of the six dedicated areas of Franciacorta. Villa Crespia manages its vineyards using organic methods and is self-sufficient in energy thanks to its photovoltaic system. NumeroZero Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero is the company’s most representative wine. Dosage Zero means that during disgorging, topping up is done with the same wine, so no sugar or liqueur are added. Dosage Zero is therefore the most authentic interpretation of the soil. Three of Villa Crespia’s ten Franciacorta wines are Dosaggio Zero (no dosage): NumeroZero, Cisiolo Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero and Riserva del Gelso Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero. Seven years ago, Millè was developed, which was presented for the first time at Vinitaly 2015 with Millesimo 2007. Over the years, the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 vintages have followed, and the 2014 vintage celebrating Millé’s seventh birthday has just been released.
