Wakatsuru Sun Shine Single Malt 1990 Red Whisky

Wakatsuru Shozou Distillery is a Ji-whisky distillery. Ji-whisky means ‘local’ and is comparable to “micro-brewing” or “micro-distilling”. Wakatsuru Distillery obtained a license to distill whisky in 1953 and has been producing a small amount of whisky on and off since then.

Nose: The aromas have alight fruit notes with malt and spice.

Palate: Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice.

Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.

Wakatsuru is located in the Toyama Prefecture in the Chubu Region. Even though Whisky production only became possible in 1953, Wakatsuru Shozu Distillery started its Whisky production in 1862.
