One of the most eagerly anticipated bottlings of the 2013 Diageo Special Releases (and in our view the best looking) is this 1985 vintage Talisker. Aged for 27 years in refill American Oak, this shows off the intensity that Talisker can offer, both in terms of flavour and complexity.

Nose: Some floral and malty hints.
Palate: The taste almost is really just a short beginning that crescendos and transitions extremely smoothly into the finish.
Finish: Very smooth and flavorful.
Distillery Information
Talisker Distillery is heavily influenced by its location on the Isle of Skye — it embodies the spirit of the rocky, storm-lashed island and its strong, steadfast people. The distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, who leased the Talisker House from Clan MacLeod and eventually converted it into a distillery.
