Distilled at the Fettercarin distillery in the Highlands, this release was bottled exclusively for Drumbeg Stores in Sutherland. This expression was laid down to mature in a single cask for at least 9 years before 210 bottles were produced at a strength of 55.1% abv.

Fettercairn 9 Year Old UD Drumbeg Stores Single Malt Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet vanilla. Typical Bourbon matured whisky.

Palate: A thick bodied whisky that is sweet and smooth at the same time. Peppery (white peppers) and quite fruity. Some pears and pineapple.

Finish: Long, delicate and complex.

Distillery Information

Fettercairn has a traditional distillery set-up with an open-topped mash tun (producing cloudy wort), wooden washbacks and small stills. There are even soap grinders on the sides of the wash stills. These would have been used to add non-perfumed soap as a surfactant to stop the stills boiling over.
