Nose: Crisp orchard fruits, sweet vanilla and frosted pears.

Palate: Lashings of honey, candied orange and warming winter spices.

Finish: Long with cinnamon bark, dark chocolate and roasted nuts.

Distillery Information

Scallywag whisky is part of Douglas Laing's range of blended malt Scotch whiskies. The family-owned company in Scotland is known for high-quality Scotch whiskies. The Scallywag range shows their commitment to craftsmanship. Scallywag whisky honours the Douglas Laing family's Fox Terriers. The name "Scallywag" and the terrier image on the bottles reflect the family heritage and the whisky's bold character. The packaging is fun, featuring a terrier with a monocle. The range has Speyside malts. These are sweet and fruity. The malts come from respected Speyside distilleries. The blend is mostly in ex-bourbon casks, with some Spanish sherry casks. This adds complexity with dark fruit, chocolate, and spicy oak flavours, balanced by sweet vanilla. The whiskies have different types. The main one has no age statement, is non-chill-filtered, and bottled at 46% ABV. It's a balance of robust flavour and approachability. It's sweet, spicy, and fruity. Douglas Laing has also made limited editions and age-statement Scallywags. These include cask-strength and special vattings. They highlight different aspects of Speyside malts.
