Distillery Information

Torres is one of the best-known wine and brandy brands in Spain. The family has been making wine in Catalonia since the 19th century and brandy since the 1920s. The company transformed the image of Spanish wine when Miguel Torres (born in 1941) planted French varieties and the resulting Mas La Plana Cabernet Sauvignon 1970 beat the might of Bordeaux by coming first at the 1979 Gault Millau Olympiades du Vin. Now one of the largest family-owned wine companies in the world, Torres produces wine in both Spain and Chile, as well as fine wood-aged Spanish brandies.
