It is known for its extremely high phenol content, with the "129.3 ppm" in the name referring to the parts per million of phenols in the barley used to make the whisky. This whisky is considered one of the most heavily peated whiskies in the world. The high phenol content gives the whisky a strong, smoky and peaty flavor. This particular edition is bottled at 122.2 proof (61.1% alcohol by volume) and aged for 5 years.
