Detailed Description

This is the peated version of the Glenglassaugh Octaves Classic, which were both released at the same time in June 2016. Like the 'Classic,' the Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated is a single malt that has matured fully in octave casks, built from the staves of larger, used casks and are generally about 1/8th the size of a butt. It bears no age statement, is non-chill-filtered without added color, and bottled at 44% ABV.

Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Clotted cream and apple crumble with delicious waves of sweet heather burning on a hillside.

Palate: Contrasts the warmth of cracked pepper with apricot jam and plums.

Finish: Delicate and sweet from the interaction of Highland peat with the oak casks.

Distillery Information

The Glenglassaugh distillery is a malt scotch whisky distillery which restarted production in November 2008 after being acquired by an independent investment group. Following a complete refurbishment by the new owners the distillery was re-opened on 24 November 2008 by the First Minister for Scotland Alex Salmond.
