The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp acidity, chalky tannin, very tight at the moment, much more saline than the Echézeaux with a brisk finish that just needs to flesh out.

Reviews:

Burghound: A completely different aromatic profile is present here with its notably more elegant and expressive nose of various floral elements that include lavender and rose petal along with various spice and red berry fruit scents. There is a terrific sense of underlying tension to the precise, racy and focused middle weight flavors that are notably finer than those of the Clos de la Roche but at the cost of being notably less powerful. I very much like the superb persistence and fine balance and even though the tannins are quite fine they are also notably dense and as such this too is absolutely going to require plenty of patience.

Vinous: Bright ruby-red. Subtle perfume of raspberry, red cherry, rose petal and flinty minerality. Silky on entry, then less sweet and more soil-driven in the mid-palate than the Clos de la Roche. But this impeccably balanced wine boasts an insidiously tactile mouth feel and opens out spectacularly on the back end. Finishes wonderfully juicy and suave, with noble tannins and a sneaky whiplash of flavor.

Producer Information

Domaine Dujac is a highly regarded and critically lauded wine producer based in Burgundy's Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. It makes high-quality wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, ranging from entry-level Bourgogne to wines made from some of the top Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, including Clos de la Roche and Le Chambertin.The domaine was founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, who had spent the previous few years travelling around Burgundy learning the craft from the likes of Aubert de Villaine at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Charles Rousseau of Domaine Armand Rousseau. He purchased a small, run-down property in Morey-Saint-Denis and planted some Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/2395/7103/products/37_be35a093-23b2-46ba-a01f-4d21db5d4692.png?v=1675958255
