      Detailed Description

The soft aromas of ripe cherry, red berries, some chocolate, spruce needles, subtle smoky notes and spice mix flawlessly in the wonderfully balanced taste. The freshness creates a nice tension, but the whole thing is nice and round, fine and accessible. Light but with a lot of content.

        Producer Information

In 1871, Georg Geil, father of Johann Geil, bought the ancestral home near the former village limits and thus laid the foundation for the wine tradition of the Geil family in Bechtheim. His son Johann Geil, who later gave the winery its name, was ten years old when he planted a chestnut tree in the garden, which still towers over the property with its mighty arms today. It was Johann Geil who was one of the first to bottle wine in Bechtheim. Not only did he show foresight and entrepreneurial spirit when it came to wine, he was also a co-founder of the Raiffeisenbank, the goods cooperative and mayor of Bechtheim for many years. Due to his special and diverse commitment to the citizens and the community of Bechtheim, he was awarded the honorary title of Economist by the Grand Duke of Hesse and the Rhine. The winery has borne his name ever since!
