"13th Colony Distilleries started in 2009 in Americus, Georgia, as friends making holiday liquor gifts, evolving into the state's oldest operating distillery since Prohibition, known for its "made by friends for friends" ethos, small-batch spirits (bourbon, rye, vodka, gin) using local ingredients, and aging spirits to taste in the South's climate. The name honors Georgia as the 13th colony, and they focus on handcrafted quality, often aging to taste rather than strict time, even blending barrels for perfect flavor."
