Old Pulteney 17 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A delicious Highland dram from Old Pulteney, this 17 year old is comprised of 90% refill bourbon casks with the remainder being from oloroso casks. Lovely sweet aromas of butterscotch, honey and chocolate, with some faint salt and oak spice on the palate.

Nose: Sherbert, red berries, lemons and a little bit of rich fruit that’s almost on the turn.

Palate: Sugar sweetness quickly leading to dry wood, with some dried apricots and raisins. Water brings out more fresh sweet and sour fruit – plums and their stones.

Finish: Long with dry wood and apples.

Founded in 1826 by James Henderson at the height of Wick's celebrated herring boom, the Pulteney Distillery is one of the most northerly Scotch whisky distilleries on the British mainland.
